Biography

Martha Ann Lindsey, 63, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, July 9, 2010 in Fairfield. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at Capps Memorial Chapel with Brother Ed Ridge officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lindsey was born May 26, 1947 in Fairfield, to parents John Thomas and Grace Guiton Carroll. She married Gainor (Bub) Lindsey in 1980 and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2006. Mrs. Lindsey was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Van Dean Carroll and two sisters, Lucy Salter and Sonda Whatley. Mrs. Lindsey was known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and most of all, a “good cooker”. It should also be noted that she, along with her sisters, were in a “league of their own” as softball players with Martha playing catcher
Left to cherish her memory are four children, Kim Hardin of Oakwood; Kristan Fryer and husband Clint of Fairfield; Heath Lindsey and wife Katrice of Waxahachie; Shane Lindsey and wife Rhonda of Elkhart; three brothers, Milton, Johnny and Jack Carroll; five sisters, Carolyn Nanny; Billie Brim; Kathy Whatley; Sheila Carroll and Sara Owens; eleven grandchildren, Christopher Henderson and wife Hope; Ryan Schick; Blake Hardin; Caden and Cullen Fryer; Tyler and Courtney Lindsey; Meagan and Jamie Lindsey; Deven and Dusten Denemark.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Henderson, Blake Hardin, Tyler Lindsey, David Winfree and Jacob Carroll. Honorary bearers will be brothers-in-law, Jimmy Nanny, Phil Whatley, James Whatley, Jerry Brim and B.D. Owens.
